PYOTR ILYICH TCHAIKOVSKY

 

Tchaikovsky was born on May 7th, 1840 in Russia. He began piano at age five with a

local woman, and within three years he was able to read music as well as his teacher.

At age fifteen, Tchaikovsky composed his first piece - a waltz. We will listen to 2 piecea

from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” as we celebrate May birthdays in music.
